Q. Do you Sell Guns and Ammo online using your webstore?
A. No. You must come in Person to Make these purchases in store only. No Gun Sales or Ammo sales will be conducted online via our webstore.
Q. Who may draw and fire from a holster?
A. Only Law Enforcement, Military and civilians passing a proficiency test at long shot.
Q. Must I be a member to use your FFL transfer services?
A. It is not necessary to be a member for Long Shot to be of service in transferring your firearm.
Your gun needs to be shipped to us by another FFL dealer, to whom we provide our information
beforehand. At the time of pick up, the buyer must also present a valid Fire Arms ID Card, and a
valid picture ID card (US State Driver’s License or US Passport).
Additionally, the buyer will need to pass the NICS check (National Instant Criminal Background Check System), at a cost of $20.
Q. Am I able to take a course if I have a physical limitation or disability?
A. Long Shot is in full compliance with American with Disabilities Act. Our building is designed to
provide compliant access throughout. However, Long Shot has the right and responsibility to make
an assessment and decision, on a case by case basis, to preserve the safety and security of our guests and staff.
Q. What is the minimum age requirement?
A1. TO SHOOT: Children aged 13 and older, who are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
To rent a hand gun
A2. TO RENT LONG GUNS: Adults aged 18 and older for long guns (shot guns or rifles).
A3. TO RENT HAND GUNS: Adults aged 21 or older valid government / state issued picture identification.
Q. Do you offer private lessons?
A. Yes. By appointment only. You must call and speak with Range Master, Jeffrey Marsella, in order to
discuss experience, requirements and course / lesson structure.
Q. Do you offer gun cleaning services?
A. Yes. Our Gun Smith Department offer cleaning services for pistols and long guns.
Q. Do you transfer firearms from other dealers?
A. Yes we will receive from and ship to other Federal Firearms Licensed dealers.
Q. Do you offer gunsmith services?
A. Yes. Please call for more info.
Q. Do you have a dress code?
A. Dress to protect your skin from Brass Casings which are very hot. Comfortable pants (jeans, khakis) and
long sleeve shirts (T-shirts, Under Armor) are recommended. No open toed shoes / sandals. No low cut shirts,
tank tops, A-shirts, for men or women.
Q. What kind of ammunition is allowed?
A1. FOR RIFLES: UP to .308 Caliber
A2. FOR PISTOLS: Up to .50 Caliber (no BMG allowed).
A3. NOT ALLOWED: Tracer, armor piercing nor steel core rounds. No black powder ammo.
Q. Do you sell firearms at the range?
A. Yes we do. We hold a Federal Firearms License and a NJ Retail Firearms Dealer License.
Q. I am a total beginner. Do I need to take a class?
A1. You need to watch a 12 minute video, then meet with one of our Range Safety Officers. He will
demonstrate how the firearm that you are shooting works. He will also be in the gun bay with you while
Q. May I shoot my own firearm?
A. Yes. You may shoot your own firearm. However, prior to shooting, your firearm will be subject to
inspection and approval to shoot in one of our gun bays.
Q. I am from a different country. May I still shoot at your range?
A1. Foreign nationals are held to the same standards as American nationals and residents. You need
to meet our age, Identification and communication requirements.
If you do not possess a valid Driver’s License, you must provide a valid passport with valid US Visa. You must
watch and fully understand the instructional video and understand directions from the Range Safety Officer in English.
Q. How many people per port?
A. Max of two people per port.
Q. May I transfer my membership to someone else?
A. No. However, your wife, domestic partner or significant other may use your membership for free. They must be
registered as such prior to the day they arrive to use it.
Q. Can one of my guests use the range if I am not present?
A. No. You must be present with your guest.
Q. What about if I give them a Gift Pass? Can they shoot without me?
A. Your gift pass will allow cover someone’s range fees for a one hour session. They must still be accompanied by
another shooter or observer. Additionally, they must still rent their gun and Eyes and Ears protection, as well as, purchase
ammunition and targets in order to shoot.
Q. Do you offer discounts to Military, Law Enforcement, Fire Fighters and EMS?
A. Yes. Discounts are provided across the board on all memberships, guns, ammo and range fees.
Q. May I take photos or video while I am shooting in the range?
A. Yes. And if you give us a copy, we may feature you on our social media or website.
Q. If I am shooting in a port and need ammo what do I do?
A. You can may continue shooting while your shooting buddy informs the Range Safety Officer that s/he
is going to purchase more Ammo.
If your shooting buddy is a minor (not allowed to buy our ammo), you must both exit the firing line, leaving the
unloaded weapon in the port, with the muzzle pointed down range and the slide locked back, and let RSO know
you are going to purchase more ammo.
